Probably not going to be used by NYAN, but of general interest for marine data links.
According to a vague guestimate of someone from Libre Space Foundation, building and launching a satellite with a LoRa store and forward trasponder might be done for something on the order of 25,000 EUR. Launch maybe 20 - 30k, parts on the order of 1k. Also design needed of course.
Maybe use SatNOGS - open network of satellite ground stations.
