Sam Holmes had trouble with one of these, but maybe that was just the bluetooth on the bluetooth version? Not sure, would need to check videos / ask him.

The application areas page says it can be used for wind power, agriculture, cranes, and security, but the warranty section says leisure use only.

What happen if my unit gets blocked? The ULTRASONIC PORTABLE restarts after 10 minutes thanks to the system called “watchdog”. You simply have to reset the application again and it will work again correctly.

Well…….to follow up I’ve abandoned the calypso system. The first nmea connect plus I purchased was DOA coupled with no interest in supporting it from anyone. The second nmea connect plus I purchased had an effective range of roughly 2’ even though the published specs put the Bluetooth range at 50 meters in free space.

The manual says it is open source hardware. I emailed to ask them, and they said: There must have been a misunderstanding, what is “open” to third parties is the communication protocol and access to the readings.
